Working Together in the Alps – LDA
One of the things I’ve come to value most about running Finesse Art is the relationships I’ve built with other local businesses here in the Alps. The connections and client satisfaction are really important to me.
Over the years, collaboration has become an important part of what I do. It might begin with helping someone who has just bought a property and doesn’t quite know where to start, working alongside other local businesses on a new project, or simply sharing our work, ideas and inspiration with one another.
Often, one introduction leads to another — and that sense of working together can make the whole process of setting up a property in the Alps much easier and more enjoyable for the client.

Sharing ideas and inspiration
One of the local businesses I’ve enjoyed working alongside is Linge des Alpes in Morzine. There is a mutual respect and understanding of each others work.
Specialising in quality linen and made-to-order beds, sofas, outdoor furniture and more….LDA work with hotels, chalets, rental properties and private homes throughout the Alps and beyond. Our work is quite different, but that is exactly what makes the collaboration work.
Over the years, our paths have crossed on a number of projects. We share ideas and inspiration, recommend one another’s work and, where it makes sense, bring our different expertise together to help a client create a space that feels complete.
For me, artwork is often one of those final elements that brings a room to life. In the case of this project you can truly see that it does. On the flip side of this I often challenge why artwork is left until the end. For me, it is a vital part of the decoration process and can often be used to inspire interiors. I love being able to look at the colours, textures, fabrics and feel of a property and help a client find an image that connects with both the interior and their own experience of the mountains.

A summer project
This summer gave me and Annabelle another opportunity to work together on a beautiful Alpine property, featured here and now available to rent through Unwind France, who also had an influence on the images selected.
Projects like this are a great example of why I enjoy collaborating. Everyone brings something different to the table, but we’re all working towards the same goal — helping to create a welcoming, individual space that feels right for the property and the people who will spend time there.
It’s also about making the process easier for the owner. Setting up a new property can involve a huge number of decisions, so having local people who know one another, understand each other’s work and can share recommendations and ideas can be invaluable.

Seeing Finesse Art in a different setting
My relationship with Linge des Alpes has also led to another lovely opportunity, with a selection of my artwork now displayed in their showroom in Morzine.
I always enjoy seeing my photography within an interior setting. It gives the work a different life and allows people to see how a large piece of photographic art can become part of a room rather than simply something that hangs on a wall.
It’s also another way we can share and support each other’s work — something I think is particularly important within a small local business community.

The value of working locally
For me, collaboration isn’t just about a single project. It’s about building relationships and trust over time. Supporting each other.
We share ideas, introduce clients to people we trust, offer inspiration and help each other find solutions. Whether someone is starting from scratch with a new Alpine property or simply looking for that final piece to bring a room together, having a network of local businesses can make a real difference.
And, of course, it makes the creative process much more enjoyable too.
This summer’s project is just one of many collaborations I’ve been fortunate to be part of — and hopefully there will be plenty more to come.
